Newtown Pool Reopens Today

The pool has been closed since staff discovered asbestos in the roof. The baths will eventually be replaced by a new pool in the second phase of the council's community pools programme.

• lane swimming ( they have no lanes)
• adults Swimming ( non- timetabled)
• ladies only on Wednesday 12-1

Dam I Am Bushed

Doubling up on the weekend is a little tiring to say the least, and with the lovely organiser related challenges we had as well its always fun at the fair ground.  For me two of my favourite days out in the calendar have cosied up making it very had to choose between them all.

On Saturday the Clash of the Tritons always brings a smile to my face with the ever changing face of London and lets not forget the horrid traffic we have to endure but its one of those races, rain or shine that just happens.  It lovely and the best part of 250 people in a saturday morning aquathlon shows that its ever popular. I also raced this time as well for the first time, thanks to my brother for coming along to help out so that I could.

Sunday saw the Stu Crew back in Erewash for the 3rd running of the Erewash Triathlon, A novice event initially the council have adapted well over the last few years and it was nice to see Roland Harrison back their supporting his replacement Ian Tinto ( Race Director).

What really makes Erewash Triathlon a little special is that its so popular with the locals and the novices. and I really hope that doesn't change.  Its not an *everyones a winner* approach either.  Race Briefings are run every 30 minutes and the support from local business, clubs and council employees is fantastic.

Its very rare you see a sad face at Erewash, long may it continue

Clash Of The Triton Results

Due to a slight issue with the DOB, we are manually correcting a lot of age category results.. The ORganisers are aware and we hope to have them with the photos sorted out this evening.  Please bear with us, they are circumstances outside of our control.  Provisional results are available using the link on the Homepage

Prizes for the categories are being sent out next week. Only the senior category was done on the day so you won't have missed out on anything.

Chip Timing Services

In 2008 StuWeb Race Management Services purchased Chip Timing System. Our RFID Timing Systems allows us to acurately time your athletes during triathlon, duathlon, running or cycling events big or small. We can provide times, transition splits on the day of your event.

2010 sees the release of the RFID ULTRA system which uses state of the are GEN2 protocal readers and then worlds leading UHF tag for running.

Getting Back Into It After Injury

After an injury its very tempting to get stuck right back into it. Take your time and develop your sessions slowly. Rushing will only serve to aggravate the injury again and put you back to square one.
